St Vincent and the Grenadines has celebrated 45 years of diplomatic relations with Taiwan, with the country’s Deputy Prime Minister highlighting the strength and importance of the long-standing partnership.

The milestone was observed during a luncheon hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to welcome PM Leacock and the Vincentian delegation to Taiwan. Government representatives reflected on decades of cooperation in areas such as healthcare, education, agriculture, and infrastructure development. Officials said Taiwan has played a key role in supporting national projects and capacity building.

The Deputy Prime Minister praised the relationship as one built on mutual respect and shared values. He noted that the partnership continues to deliver tangible benefits for the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The anniversary also served as a reminder of the country’s continued support for Taiwan on the international stage, as both sides reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in the years ahead.
