Schools Closed in Antigua & Barbuda Due to TS Jerry

All public schools across Antigua have been closed today, October 10, 2025, following continuous heavy rainfall caused by Tropical Storm Jerry. The Ministry of Education confirmed the decision early this morning after reports of flooded roads and poor visibility across several communities.
In addition to public institutions, several schools have also suspended classes for the day. These include St. John’s Catholic Primary, Divine Academy of Excellence, St. Nicholas Primary, Christ the King High School, St. John’s Lutheran, St. Anthony’s Secondary School, Post Millennial Academy Ltd, and the Seventh Day Adventist School.
On Barbuda, all schools are also closed as the island remains under a Tropical Storm Warning. The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) continues to monitor the weather system, urging residents to remain indoors and avoid flooded areas.
The Ministry of Education says it will provide further updates once weather conditions improve and it is safe to resume classes. Parents and guardians are encouraged to stay tuned to official advisories for reopening details.
