Rhapsody of the Seas Opens Antigua Cruise Season

Rhapsody of the Seas arrived on October 2, 2025, officially opening the cruise season for Antigua & Barbuda and welcoming thousands of travelers to the island.
This marked the season’s inaugural call at Antigua Cruise Port, where the local community greeted the ship with enthusiasm. The return of cruise activities has brought new energy to St. John’s and the surrounding areas, with hopes high for a record-breaking season.
Last season was a big win for Antigua and Barbuda’s economy, especially for local businesses. Vendors, taxi drivers, and tour guides all saw a boost, thanks to the steady flow of visitors from cruise ships.
On the development front, the Upland Development Project is nearing completion. This initiative involved clearing the old Barnes Property to make way for a modern cruise terminal, a move that shows Global Ports Holdings’ commitment to creating top-tier, future-ready ports.
Looking ahead, the cruise schedule for October 2025 features a lineup of big names and ships. After the Rhapsody of the Seas opened the season with 2,040 passengers, Celebrity Reflection is set to call on October 3 and again on October 13, each time carrying 3,046 guests. Queen Elizabeth will arrive on October 20 with 2,080 passengers, followed by the Regal Princess on October 22 with 3,560 visitors. The Grand Princess also docks soon after with 2,606 passengers.
Disney Magic will make its appearance on October 26 with 1,750 passengers, joined by Celebrity Reflection the same day. Mein Schiff 2 rounds out the month on October 27 with 2,894 passengers, and the Rhapsody of the Seas returns on October 30 with another 2,040 guests.
Antigua and Barbuda’s cruise season is off to a strong start, promising lively ports and thriving local businesses.
