Regional Symposium Set to Strengthen Parents’ Role in Education

A major Caribbean education symposium will be held from September 30 to October 2, 2025, at the Wyndham Grand Resort in Barbados. The event, themed “Stronger Together: Empowering Parents as Partners in Caribbean Education,” aims to strengthen the role of parents in student learning and launch a regional Parent-Teacher Association (PTA).

The symposium is organized by the Caribbean Development Bank in partnership with the Ministry of Educational Transformation in Barbados. It will bring together parents, teachers, school administrators, and Education Ministers from across the Caribbean, including Antigua and Barbuda, to discuss ways to improve collaboration between families and schools.

Sessions will include workshops on supporting students academically and emotionally, advocating for learners with diverse needs, and fostering inclusive parent-school partnerships. The event will also be livestreamed daily at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM from September 30 to October 3, 2025, via the Caribbean Development Bank’s website and social media channels, allowing participants across the region to benefit.
