Prime Minister Browne to Announce Election Date Tomorrow

Prime Minister Gaston Browne will announce the general election date on Tuesday night.

He made the announcement over the weekend on the Browne and Browne radio programme. He told listeners they “will not have to wait much longer” for the official date.

Meanwhile, the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party (ABLP) will hold its political launch on Tuesday at Nugent Avenue. Browne will formally reveal the date there.

He also shared internal polling showing strong support for the ABLP. A Don Anderson poll commissioned by the United Progressive Party (UPP) indicates the ABLP has over 40 percent backing.

In contrast, Browne said the UPP has about 20 percent support. Much of it comes from party loyalty, not confidence in leadership or policies. The remaining voters remain undecided.
