Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda has congratulated Dr. Godwin Friday on his election as Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines.

Browne sent his message from Morocco on November 28, where he is attending an international conference. He emphasized Antigua and Barbuda’s readiness to deepen cooperation with the new government in Kingstown.

Furthermore, Browne highlighted the importance of partnership within the OECS and CARICOM, stressing that both nations share priorities for regional integration and citizen welfare.

He expressed confidence that both leaders will work closely to strengthen collaboration on economic growth, security, and social development across the Caribbean.

In addition, Prime Minister Browne issued a separate letter to outgoing Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves. Browne acknowledged Gonsalves’ historic 24-year leadership, one of the longest in the Caribbean region.

He praised Gonsalves for his commitment to Caribbean unity and his transformative role in Vincentian public life. Browne also noted the mentorship Gonsalves provided to leaders across the region.

“The legacy of Dr. Gonsalves endures and speaks for itself,” Browne said, wishing him well as he continues to serve in Parliament.

Moreover, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining strong, productive relations with St Vincent and the Grenadines. Officials underscored the intention to build on decades of friendship, cooperation, and shared initiatives.

The announcement reinforces the close diplomatic and economic ties between the two nations. Browne also called for collaboration on climate change resilience, regional trade, and sustainable development.

Browne’s congratulatory messages highlight the respect and continuity in Caribbean diplomacy. By honoring both the incoming and outgoing leaders, Antigua and Barbuda signals stability and commitment in regional politics.

Finally, the Prime Minister expressed optimism that the new administration will work collaboratively with neighboring countries. This approach aims to enhance governance, promote regional unity, and improve the lives of citizens across the Eastern Caribbean.
