PM Urges Antiguans Abroad to Return and Help Build the Nation

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has encouraged Antiguans and Barbudans living overseas to return home and contribute to national development. He said the country needs the skills, experience, and ideas of its diaspora to support continued growth and nation-building.

Speaking on the issue, the Prime Minister highlighted opportunities in areas such as business, education, healthcare, and technology. He noted that many nationals abroad have gained valuable expertise that can help strengthen local institutions and the economy.

“Rather than to stay in the United States and to be unproductive, come home and build your country,” he said on the Browne and Browne radio show. “Many of them can do better here.”

The Prime Minister also pointed to ongoing investments in infrastructure and housing, saying these efforts are creating a more supportive environment for those considering a return. He stressed that national development is a shared responsibility and that the diaspora has an important role to play.
