PM Confirms Water Restored in St. Philip’s North

PM

PM Gaston Browne says water is now flowing in parts of St. Philip’s North. The update follows complaints raised at a recent town hall meeting.

During the forum, residents spoke openly about low water pressure. In particular, one woman described ongoing problems in her area. As a result, officials moved quickly to respond.

Browne shared the update on the Browne and Browne show on Pointe FM. He said the meeting was well attended and productive. Moreover, he stressed that public feedback helps drive action.

Shortly after the town hall, Browne received a call from a resident. The caller had previously complained about weak water pressure. However, this time the message was different.

The resident reported strong water flow. Browne quoted the caller as saying the pressure was now powerful. Therefore, he confirmed that improvements had reached the area.

According to Browne, the responsible minister promised fast action. The minister committed to restoring supply by Saturday. In addition, he pledged more consistent service going forward.

Browne said the quick fix shows the value of community meetings. He explained that face-to-face talks allow leaders to hear real concerns. Furthermore, they help ensure accountability.

“These engagements are very important,” Browne said. He added that government officials must reach people directly. As a result, issues can be solved faster.

The improvements come during an active political season. St. Philip’s North will hold a by-election on March 16. The vote follows the retirement of longtime MP Robin Yearwood.

Browne said the town hall served two purposes. First, it allowed residents to raise service issues. Second, it gave supporters of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party a chance to connect.

Meanwhile, residents say steady water supply remains essential. Reliable service affects homes, businesses, and daily life. Therefore, many welcomed the swift response.

In the end, Browne said the government will continue listening. He promised ongoing engagement in every community.
