PM Browne Reaffirms Antigua and Barbuda’s Sovereignty

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has made it clear that Antigua and Barbuda will not compromise its independence or decision-making power to satisfy any foreign interests. His comments came as he addressed growing global pressures that small nations like Antigua and Barbuda often face.
Browne stressed that while Antigua and Barbuda values strong partnerships with larger powers, the government’s duty is first and foremost to protect the nation’s sovereignty. He added that decisions will continue to reflect the will and best interest of the people rather than outside influences.
The Prime Minister also reminded citizens that safeguarding sovereignty requires unity, vigilance, and a strong commitment to national development. He emphasized that Antigua and Barbuda must chart its own course in global affairs, while still engaging in respectful cooperation with international allies.
