PM Gaston Browne has congratulated Randy Baltimore following his strong by-election victory in St. Philip’s North.

The by-election took place on Monday. Meanwhile, Baltimore secured a clear win over Alex Browne of the United Progressive Party.

Baltimore represented the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party. As a result, political observers described his victory as decisive.

In a statement on Tuesday, the Prime Minister welcomed Baltimore to Parliament. He said the result shows public confidence in the government.

“The people of St. Philip’s North have spoken clearly,” Browne said. He also praised Baltimore’s commitment to service.

Furthermore, Browne said the victory reflects trust from voters. He added that the government will continue its development plans.

Meanwhile, the by-election followed the resignation of Robin Yearwood. He had represented the constituency for many years.

In addition, Browne acknowledged Yearwood’s long service in national politics. He noted his role in shaping the constituency.
