New Dredger Coming to Antigua & Barbuda

Antigua & Barbuda is set to receive a new dredger within the next two months. The vessel will be used to maintain and expand the nation’s ports and harbours, supporting both trade and tourism.
Officials say the dredger will help keep shipping channels clear and allow larger vessels to dock safely. This is seen as an important step for boosting cruise tourism and improving access for cargo ships.
The new equipment is expected to strengthen the country’s maritime infrastructure. It will also reduce reliance on external contractors for dredging work, saving costs and creating more efficiency.
Authorities note that the dredger will play a key role in long-term development, especially as Antigua & Barbuda continues to position itself as a regional hub for shipping and tourism.
