Narine Sets Record as Trinbago Beat Antigua Falcons

Sunil Narine became the Caribbean Premier League’s all-time leading wicket-taker as Trinbago Knight Riders defeated Antigua and Barbuda Falcons by nine wickets in the eliminator. Narine claimed his 130th CPL wicket, surpassing former West Indies teammate Dwayne Bravo.

Falcons were limited to 166-8, with Narine taking 1-36. United States left-armer Saurabh Netravalkar took 3-23, while off-spinner Usman Tariq added 2-19. The Falcons fought hard, but their total proved too low for Trinbago.

Nicholas Pooran and Alex Hales then powered the chase with an unbroken 143-run partnership. Pooran scored 90 not out from 53 balls, hitting six sixes in his last 18 deliveries, while Hales remained unbeaten on 54 from 40 balls. Trinbago reached the target with 15 balls to spare.

With this win, Trinbago Knight Riders advance to face the loser of Thursday’s first qualifier between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings. The Falcons’ CPL campaign ends here, but they showed flashes of promise throughout the season.
