Ministry Outlines Refund Process for CXC Exam Fees

Ministry

Ministry officials have clarified the process for payment and refund of CXC examination fees for May/June 2026.

The government will fully cover examination costs for in-school candidates sitting CCSLC, CSEC, and CAPE exams.

As a result, all fees already collected from students or their parents and guardians will be refunded in full, effective immediately.

The Ministry stated that funds already paid into its Examination Account will be returned to the respective schools. Parents and guardians will receive refunds directly through the schools. Schools are responsible for processing and issuing the payments.

Additionally, the Ministry instructed that no further CXC fees should be deposited into the Ministry’s External Examination Fees Account at ACB Caribbean for May/June 2026. Parents and guardians were advised not to make any additional payments to schools or other institutions for these exams.

The Ministry said it expects the full cooperation of schools, parents, and other stakeholders as it implements this initiative. Officials emphasized that the measure aims to ease the financial burden on families and ensure equal access to examinations for all eligible students.
