Japan and Antigua and Barbuda Strengthen Ties at Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

Foreign Affairs Minister Everly Paul Chet Greene of Antigua and Barbuda met with Japan’s Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi on September 30 in Tokyo, during his visit for Expo 2025 Osaka.
Minister Iwaya welcomed Greene’s third visit to Japan, highlighting Antigua and Barbuda’s successful National Day celebration at the Expo. Greene expressed gratitude for Japan’s support and emphasized his commitment to deepening bilateral ties.
The two ministers reaffirmed cooperation on sustainable development, particularly in addressing small island state vulnerabilities by leveraging Japan’s expertise and technology. They also exchanged views on regional security issues, agreeing to work together in maintaining a free and open international order.
