Jamaica: Police Arrest Husband in 2024 Murder of British-Jamaican Wife

Jamaica

Jamaican police have arrested a man wanted in connection with the 2024 murder of his British-Jamaican wife.

The suspect, 39-year-old Angrea Morrison, also known as ‘Bredda-Bredda,’ ‘Ninjaman,’ and ‘Badness,’ faces charges for the killing.

Meanwhile, police named Morrison and his brother Kemar as persons of interest. However, Kemar remains at large.

Morrison works as a construction worker and vendor. Additionally, he has addresses in Roaring River, Deeside, Linstead, and Flanker.

The victim, 64-year-old Dawn Anderson, a UK national, was found in a shallow grave in Petersfield, Westmoreland, on December 2, 2024.

Anderson wore a tribal-printed dress when authorities recovered her body. Furthermore, the discovery followed a farmer noticing disturbed soil.

Anderson and Morrison arrived in Jamaica from the UK on November 24, 2024. Subsequently, they checked into a Montego Bay hotel.

Two days later, her family reported her missing after losing contact. Morrison claimed she was last seen in Negril, Westmoreland.

Police immediately launched an investigation. Consequently, they tracked the site and confirmed Anderson’s identity after excavation.

Later, authorities arrested Morrison in St. James during a targeted operation in Montego Bay. Then, on February 6, they escorted him to Westmoreland Police Division.

He formally faced charges on February 12 after a question-and-answer session with his attorney. Importantly, witness statements formed the basis of the charges.

Police continue to seek Kemar Morrison. Meanwhile, they remind the public to provide information that could assist the investigation.

Additionally, officials highlighted the case’s significance in raising awareness about domestic violence and safety for visitors.

Finally, police stressed their commitment to justice. They aim to ensure accountability while maintaining public safety in this high-profile case.
