Hurricane Melissa Recovery: PM Browne Pledges Support for Jamaica
Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda has promised aid to Jamaica after Hurricane Melissa caused major damage. He announced that Antigua and Barbuda will provide financial help and send soldiers to assist with rebuilding efforts.
During a CARICOM mission, PM Browne visited Jamaica with leaders from other Caribbean nations. They toured areas hit hardest by the storm and met with officials managing recovery. Browne expressed strong solidarity with Jamaica and encouraged its people to stay resilient through the tough times.

He said, “We are very resilient as Caribbean people. This too shall pass. Continue to rebuild bigger and better.” Antigua and Barbuda’s support reflects the close ties between nations in the region facing climate challenges.
