Hoppers Take Lead in Antigua First Division with Big Win
The Greenbay Hoppers now lead the Antigua and Barbuda First Division after a strong 5-1 win over Golden Grove. Ammiel Greenaway scored first for Hoppers early in the game, but Golden Grove quickly equalized through Stephen Hughes. From that point on, Hoppers took control, with goals from Jomo Andrew, Yakira Hughes, Jari Jackson, and veteran Tamorley “Ziggy” Thomas sealing the decisive victory.
Both teams have 12 points after five matches, but Hoppers top the table thanks to their better goal difference. Meanwhile, in other matches, Freemans Village Scorpions beat English Harbour 4-0 with all goals by Darius Hector. SAP FC also won 3-0 against Blue Jays, remaining a strong contender this season.
