High Surf Warning for Antigua and Barbuda

beach

A high surf warning has been issued for Antigua and Barbuda due to large and dangerous waves expected over the next few days. Forecasts predict that wave heights could exceed 12 feet (about 3 meters), creating hazardous conditions along the island’s coastlines.

The strongest waves are expected to impact the northern, eastern, and southern shores, where rough seas and powerful breakers could pose serious risks. These conditions make it unsafe for swimmers, small boats, and anyone near the water’s edge.

Officials are urging everyone to take this warning seriously and avoid activities like swimming, fishing, or walking close to the shore until the seas calm down. The Meteorological Office says the warning will remain in place at least until Tuesday.

Residents and visitors should stay updated and prioritize their safety while the dangerous swells continue to affect the area.
