Cricket West Indies has welcomed strong support from the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. Notably, the Cabinet approved a landmark campus project in Coolidge. As a result, the region moves closer to modern cricket development.

The plan will roll out between 2026 and 2030. Importantly, it will redevelop a 20-acre site owned by Cricket West Indies. The campus will blend training, education, and business activity. Therefore, it creates a complete cricket ecosystem.

Recently, leaders met to finalize the proposal. These included Prime Minister Gaston Browne and Sports Minister Daryl Matthew. In addition, CWI officials shared detailed plans.

President Kishore Shallow praised the government’s vision. He said the campus will strengthen player development. Moreover, it will improve team performance across all formats. He also noted stronger financial sustainability.

Meanwhile, CEO Chris Dehring stressed long-term growth. He explained that modern tools will shape future players. For example, the campus will use simulators and advanced technology. Consequently, training will become more data-driven.

The facility will serve as a central high-performance hub. It will include analytics, sports science, and athlete support systems. In addition, a full-time cricket academy and high school will operate onsite. This ensures young players balance education and sport.

Furthermore, the project carries strong commercial potential. It will integrate tourism, broadcasting, and events. As a result, new revenue streams should emerge. This reduces reliance on traditional cricket income.

Equally important, the campus will house CWI headquarters. It will also include a broadcast and production center. Therefore, the region could become a hub for global cricket content.
