Court Sets March 23 Deadline in Chantel Crump Case After DPP Submits Incomplete Evidence

Court proceedings continued Wednesday in the St. John’s Magistrates’ Court concerning the murder of nine-year-old Chantel Crump.

Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emmanuel ruled that the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) submitted an incomplete list of exhibits. Therefore, the prosecution must correct its filing.

During the hearing, the prosecution acknowledged the issue. They requested additional time to provide a complete list. Consequently, the magistrate granted the extension.

The DPP’s office now has until March 23, 2026, to submit all required exhibits. This ensures the prosecution’s case is properly documented before trial.
