Bus Driver Found Guilty in Case Involving 12-Year-Old
Bus driver Kenroy Graham has been found guilty in a case involving a 12-year-old passenger.
A jury returned the verdict following a trial over an incident on April 1, 2022. The matter began after the child boarded his bus at the West Bus Station heading to Coolidge.
After she exited the bus, she realized her headphones were missing. Consequently, she returned to the vehicle to search for them. Graham told her she could remain on board while he dropped off other passengers.
As the route continued, the remaining passengers exited the bus. Prosecutors said that once the bus was empty, Graham diverted from his usual route. He then stopped along a side road.
At that location, prosecutors told the court he questioned the child about her age and where she lived. They also said he engaged in inappropriate physical contact and made advances.
The girl later reported the incident to her aunt. In turn, her aunt contacted police the same day. Authorities then began their investigation.
During the trial, jurors heard evidence about the sequence of events. They reviewed the prosecution’s account of what occurred after the bus became empty.
Ultimately, the jury found Graham guilty. The verdict followed their assessment of the testimony presented in court.
The case stems from the events of April 1, 2022. It centers on what prosecutors said happened after the child remained on the bus to look for her lost headphones.
Following the report to police, the matter moved through the legal process. As a result, it concluded with the jury’s decision.
