Antiguan Student Resa B. Nelson Wins 2026 Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship

Resa B. Nelson, an Antiguan student, has won the 2026 Caribbean Rhodes Scholarship. This scholarship is one of the most respected academic awards in the world. Resa will use it to study for a Master’s degree in Biology at the University of Oxford. She wants to do work that helps the Caribbean and its people.

The competition was tough. Nine finalists from across the Caribbean took part in the selection process. Resa spoke with pride and emotion about her chances to represent Afro-Caribbean students in the field of cell biology. She said she wants to give back to her community through her work.
