Antigua PM Urges Regional Partners to Ensure Lawful Drug Interdictions

Prime Minister Gaston Browne has called on regional and international partners to ensure that all drug interdiction operations in the Caribbean are conducted lawfully and with full respect for national sovereignty.

Browne emphasized that while Antigua and Barbuda remains committed to tackling the drug trade, any actions must follow established legal frameworks. He warned that operations carried out without proper authorization undermine trust and cooperation among regional states.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the importance of strengthening partnerships that support both security and development, stressing that regional stability depends on respecting the rule of law.
