Antigua Boosts Women in Senior Diplomatic and Political Roles
The Government of Antigua and Barbuda is promoting gender equality by appointing women to key diplomatic and political positions. This move reflects a strong commitment to balanced leadership in the country’s international representation.
Marie-Louise Francis has been named Senior Trade, Investment, and Diaspora Officer at the Consulate General in Miami. She is an experienced attorney with a background in the United States and is expected to become Consul General soon. Her role will be crucial in strengthening Antigua and Barbuda’s trade and diplomatic ties in North America.
Additionally, Zeina Hechme was appointed Vice Consul at the Consulate General in Toronto, Canada. With over nine years in foreign service, Zeina brings valuable expertise to her new position. These appointments show the government’s dedication to promoting capable women in leadership across important diplomatic posts.
