Antigua & Barbuda to Lead ACS Special Committee on Transport

Antigua and Barbuda has made history by being elected Chair of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Special Committee on Transport — marking the first time the nation will head this regional body. The announcement was made during the 34th meeting of the Committee, where Antigua and Barbuda secured unanimous support from all member states.
Leading this pivotal role is Dr. Clarence E. Pilgrim, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs. With decades of experience in public administration, trade facilitation, and regional cooperation, Dr. Pilgrim will now oversee the implementation of the ACS’s 2025–2026 Transport Work Programme.
The ACS Special Committee on Transport serves as the primary platform for boosting cooperation in transport and logistics across the Greater Caribbean. Key priorities under its mandate include enhancing air and maritime connectivity, digitalising transport systems, and fostering the development of sustainable infrastructure. Antigua and Barbuda’s leadership will be instrumental in shaping and driving these regional efforts forward.
