Antigua & Barbuda Marks National Day at EXPO 2025 Osaka

Antigua & Barbuda proudly celebrated its National Day on September 28 at EXPO 2025 in Osaka, Japan. The event opened with a flag-raising ceremony and followed with a vibrant cultural performance under the theme “Wadadli, Wa’Omoni – The Pearls of the Caribbean.”
The performance showcased Antigua & Barbuda’s heritage through music, dance, and storytelling. It featured African-inspired drumming, Carnival rhythms, soca vocals by Tian Winter, steelpan led by Culture Director Khan Cordice, and choreography by the national cultural troupe under Thyana Sebastian.
Leading the official delegation was Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene, who spoke about the alignment between EXPO’s global theme and Antigua & Barbuda’s national priorities. The pavilion, called “Saving Lives,” highlights environmental care, cultural richness, and economic innovation.
The Japanese host also reaffirmed commitment to deeper ties with Antigua & Barbuda. Since opening its pavilion in April, the country has drawn nearly a million visitors—a strong signal of global interest in its story and culture.
