The annual competition has become one of the country’s most anticipated holiday traditions, inspiring homeowners and business operators to brighten their communities with creative Christmas light displays that celebrate the spirit of the season. This year’s event aims to further enhance national holiday tourism while showcasing the artistic talent and festive pride of residents across both islands.
The registration period for the 2025 Christmas Lighting Competition is now open and will remain available until Wednesday, December 17, 2025. Interested participants can collect entry forms from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Department of Creative Industries on Old Parham Road located above INET. Forms are also available at the National Festivals Office on the first floor of the Cecil George John Building at the corner of Redcliffe Street and Corn Alley. Organizers encourage early registration to ensure all entries are confirmed ahead of the judging period.
Pre judging will take place on December 20 and 21, allowing judges to get an early view of participating homes and businesses. Final judging is scheduled for December 28, 2025, with the official winners’ announcement set for Good Morning Antigua Barbuda on Friday, January 5, 2026. The televised reveal has become a cherished holiday moment and consistently draws strong public engagement as communities wait to see which displays earn top honors.

Home participants will enjoy a valuable incentive package that includes a one hundred percent electricity waiver from December 15, 2025, through January 15, 2026, along with duty free concessions on Christmas lights and decorations. Cash prizes for each residential zone award three thousand Eastern Caribbean dollars for first place, two thousand for second, and one thousand for third.
