Antigua and Barbuda Dental Association Parade a Big Success

Antigua

Antigua and Barbuda Dental Association (ABDA) hosted a lively parade on March 20, 2026. The event celebrated World Oral Health Day.

Firstly, the parade followed the theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life.” Consequently, the streets were full of color, music, and smiling faces.

Moreover, children, healthcare workers, educators, and community members joined the celebration. Their participation showed strong community support.

Students from the Sunny Smiles Program marched proudly. In addition, they carried signs with oral health messages like “Floss Like a Boss” and “Healthy Smile, Healthy Life.”

Meanwhile, the parade was led by the Bon Appétit Drum Corps. Behind them, costumed characters, including the Toothie mascot, dentists, and volunteers followed.

Furthermore, medical students and coalition partners also took part. They helped engage the crowd and share oral health tips.

Interactive photo frames were placed along the route. Therefore, participants and spectators captured fun moments while promoting healthy smiles.

Dr. Dickenson-Foster, Chairman of the Day, said the parade reflected ABDA’s commitment to oral health awareness. Moreover, he praised the community’s involvement.

In addition, ABDA President Dr. Deborah Robinson-Akande said the event showed the power of collaboration. She also emphasized the importance of preventive care and healthy habits.

Special thanks went to sponsors, including Lions Club International, Food Brokerage Services, and Billy’s Food Mart. Without them, the parade could not succeed.

Also, the ABDA thanked its coalition partner, Antigua and Barbuda Red Cross. Their team ensured safety with ambulance services and first responders.

Volunteers from the Ministry of Health, Antigua State College, and University of Health Sciences Antigua contributed greatly. In addition, their guidance helped the event run smoothly.

Finally, the parade highlighted ABDA’s leadership in oral health promotion. As a result, children and families learned more about healthy habits.

In conclusion, the event was more than a celebration. It united the community, inspired youth, and promoted happy, healthy smiles across Antigua and Barbuda.
