Antigua and Barbuda Boost Quebec, Ottawa Outreach

Antigua

Antigua and Barbuda is expanding its presence in Quebec and Ottawa. The move targets stronger growth in the Canadian market.

The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority is leading the effort. The authority appointed two new trade representatives. Sylvie Madore and Danièle Bouchard will support growth in both regions.

Madore leads the Quebec agency La Tribu Gourmande. She also brings years of tourism experience. Meanwhile, Bouchard works as a marketing consultant. She also founded Quebec-based tour operator Tour Vogue.

Tameka Wharton, Director of Tourism, Canada, welcomed the move. She said Quebec remains a priority growth market. Therefore, expanding on-the-ground presence marks a strategic step.

Moreover, Wharton praised both representatives. She said they bring strong travel trade relationships. In addition, they offer market insight and credibility. As a result, the destination expects stronger advisor engagement.

Madore started her career as a travel consultant. Later, she moved into sales and marketing roles. She has represented tour operators, airlines, hotels, and tourism boards. Furthermore, she has worked with international destinations in Canada. She also brings television production experience.

Madore described Antigua and Barbuda as a high-end destination. She highlighted its 365 beaches and strong sense of safety. She also noted its boutique and pampered experience. Therefore, her team will focus on building demand in Quebec. The long-term goal includes support for future direct air service.

Bouchard adds more than 30 years of industry experience. She founded Tour Vogue in the 1990s. At that time, she promoted premium all-inclusive packages. She has also represented luxury hotels and destinations worldwide.

According to Bouchard, Quebec shows growing demand. Honeymooners and couples seek romantic escapes. At the same time, families and millennials want immersive experiences. She said travelers value charm, culture, and safety. Antigua and Barbuda offers romance, eco-tourism, and adventure. It also provides history and a warm welcome.

Additionally, the destination will attend major travel events. These include The Travel and Vacation Show in Ottawa on April 11 and 12.

Travel advisors in Quebec can register for the specialist program. They may also contact the tourism authority directly for more details.
