American woman Keishell Labeach, 40, was fined after police discovered cannabis in her luggage at the airport. She is four months pregnant.

Officers found multiple cannabis packages, including two transparent bags, two Ziploc bags, and several capsules. Altogether, the drugs weighed 163.4 grams and were valued at $1,634.

Labeach appeared before Chief Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel. She pleaded guilty to the offence. Her attorney, Wendel Alexander, explained that she had forgotten the cannabis was in her suitcase. He also noted she is of Antiguan parentage.

The court ordered Labeach to pay a $3,000 fine within 14 days. If she fails to pay, she will face six months in prison. The cannabis was confiscated by authorities.
