British Airways Extends Daily Antigua Flights Into April

British

British Airways will extend its daily Gatwick-to-Antigua flight schedule through April 2027, adding more than 3,000 seats for travelers heading to Antigua and Barbuda.

The airline currently operates a daily winter service to V.C. Bird International Airport. That schedule will continue throughout April before returning to five flights per week from May through the end of October.

The additional flights come as Antigua and Barbuda records continued growth in visitors from the United Kingdom. The destination welcomed 53,439 stay-over visitors from the UK between January and August 2026, representing an 11.2% increase compared with the same period last year.

Colin C. James, Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, described the extension as a significant development for the destination and said it reflects the strength of the UK market.

James said the additional capacity would benefit the tourism economy and create further opportunities across the wider tourism sector.

The extended British Airways schedule will also cover Antigua Sailing Week, which is scheduled for April 21 to 25, 2027. The event is one of the major activities taking place during the period when the airline will maintain its daily service.

Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism for the UK and Europe at the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said the organisation has focused on generating demand from the UK market throughout the year.

Osborne said the additional April services provide another opportunity to encourage visitors from the UK to travel to Antigua and Barbuda. She added that the tourism authority will continue working with British Airways and travel industry partners to turn demand into bookings.

The extended schedule is expected to provide additional airlift during April, giving travelers more daily options to visit Antigua and Barbuda.

The move also comes ahead of the 2027 Antigua Sailing Week, allowing visitors to travel during the event period while the daily British Airways service remains in place.
