Government Warns Against Blocking Public Beach Access

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has issued a warning against any attempts to restrict or prevent public access to the country’s beaches.

Officials reiterated that beaches are public spaces and stressed that residents and visitors must be able to access and enjoy them in accordance with national laws and regulations.

The government said it remains committed to protecting public access rights while balancing tourism development and private investment interests. Authorities emphasized that any actions that unlawfully block access could face scrutiny and enforcement measures.

The statement forms part of ongoing efforts to ensure that the nation’s beaches remain accessible to the public while preserving one of Antigua and Barbuda’s most valued natural resources.
