In addition, officials said the quake struck at a depth of 31 kilometres.

Moreover, the SRC said computer algorithms automatically generated the location data. However, analysts still need to complete additional reviews.

As a result, officials noted that the information could change slightly after further examination.

The earthquake drew attention across Antigua and Barbuda and nearby islands because of its strength and location.

Still, authorities reported no immediate injuries or damage following the tremor.

Meanwhile, regional monitoring agencies continued observing seismic activity after the quake.

The Eastern Caribbean regularly experiences earthquakes because of active tectonic movement in the region. Therefore, agencies closely monitor all major seismic events.

Saturday’s earthquake also reminded many residents about the importance of disaster preparedness and emergency awareness.

However, officials stressed that no tsunami threat developed after the event.

Emergency authorities also encouraged residents to follow official updates while analysts continue reviewing data from the quake.

Overall, the situation remained stable across Antigua and the surrounding islands following the strong morning tremor.
