APUA deploys water truck to ease Bishopgate Street disruption
APUA has deployed a water delivery truck to assist residents on Bishopgate Street. The move follows ongoing disruptions caused by mainline replacement works.
Currently, crews are replacing aging water infrastructure in the area. As a result, customers have experienced interruptions to their normal supply. Therefore, APUA has introduced temporary relief measures.
Accordingly, a water truck will serve affected residents on Saturday, 24 January. The service will operate between 8:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. During this time, customers can collect water for household use.
Meanwhile, APUA has apologised for the inconvenience. The utility also thanked residents for their patience and cooperation. Officials stressed that the works aim to improve long-term reliability.
Importantly, the mainline replacement forms part of broader network upgrades. These upgrades target leaks, pressure loss, and service instability. Consequently, APUA expects improved service once work concludes.
In addition, customers are urged to prepare ahead of time. APUA encourages households to store enough water for at least three days. This step will help reduce hardship during intermittent supply periods.
Furthermore, technical teams continue to monitor progress closely. If conditions require, APUA will redeploy water trucks. The authority said it remains ready to respond as needed.
At the same time, APUA asked residents to use water responsibly. Conserving stored water will help households manage during the works. Officials also advised residents to secure containers properly.
Notably, Bishopgate Street serves both homes and businesses. Therefore, APUA aims to minimise disruption while maintaining safety. Crews are working steadily to complete the replacement efficiently.
Additionally, APUA reminded customers that infrastructure upgrades are essential. Although short-term disruptions occur, the long-term benefits include fewer outages and better pressure.
As work continues, APUA will share updates with the public. Residents should watch for official notices through trusted channels. These updates will outline progress and any schedule changes.
Ultimately, APUA reaffirmed its commitment to service improvement. The authority said reliable water supply remains a top priority. Through these upgrades, APUA aims to strengthen the network community by community.
For now, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the water truck service. APUA thanks the Bishopgate Street community for its understanding during this improvement phase.
